Visit to Malta and Reponing of Chapter Caledonian No. 325

A Deputation from The Supreme Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Scotland headed by the First Grand Principal M.E. Companion Ian Fraser visited Malta in Mid January 2012 to repone Caledonian Royal Arch Chapter No. 325. The Chapters last exaltations were in 1980 and the chapter went into dormancy in 1982. The Chapter meets in the Masonic Temple at Villa Blye, Paola, a short distance from Valletta.

On Wednesday 18 th January a Special Meeting of Edinburgh Defensive Band No. 278 was held in this Temple. Present were M.E. Companions Ian Fraser, Archie McWatt, Tom Frost, George Alexander, Bill McEwan, Grahame Smith, Hugh Edmond, Mike Peutrill, David Niven and others as recorded in the attendance book.

With M.E.C. Archie McWatt in the chair the fifteen reponing Members present were obligated to comply with the bye-laws of Chapter Caledonian No. 325 before the Chapter was adjourned and a Mark Lodge formed.

With R.W.M.M. Bro. Bill McEwan in the chair the fifteen reponing Members were affiliated to the Mark Lodge within the Chapter.

Following this the ten reponing Members from other constitutions were then received and acknowledged as Excellent Masters in an Excellent Masters Lodge chaired by R.W. & E. M. Bro. Gordon Vincent.

A demonstration of the Royal Arch Degree then took place with a representative candidate, the reponing members already being Royal Arch Companions.

After the degrees the First Grand Principal M.E.Companion Ian Fraser welcomed the candidate representing all the other reponing Members.

The following day the Members of Supreme Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Scotland headed by the First Grand Principal M.E.C. Ian Fraser carried out the Ceremony of Reponing/Dedication of the Chapter together with the Installation of Office-bearers. At the end of the ceremony the First Grand Principal congratulated the First Principal M.E.C. David Proudfoot and his Office-bearers and wished them success for the future.
